Well, winter has finally set in. We woke up to a few inches of snow this morning, wind blowing 30mph and 12 degree temps. It looks like it'll be a short cold spell though. The South Holston is still fishing very well if you can brave the weather. Staying sub-surface is your best bet unless you see heads up. The BWO's are hatching daily, but the fish seem to be more keyed into the emergers. RS2, BWO emergers, midges, and blackfly larva/emergers are all taking nice fish. You have to stay small though. The largest fly I'd fish right now is a size 20. Good luck and Tight Lines!
