Little Truckee River:  Winter Regs-Between Boca & Stampede-Catch & Release Only!

The Little Truckee is still inaccessible with current snow and will be accessible only by snowmobile.  Flows are at 85cfs and anglers should start to see fishing pick up here.  Now that flows have been bumped up throwing a san juan worm or a glo bug might produce now. Perfect dead drifts, that sometimes have to be repeated several times are still necessary; and light tippets when trying to coax any rising fish.  Baetis and midge hatches are the still the norm here but some sporadic stonefly activity has been reported.  This section of Wild Trout water is being poached on a regular basis.  It’s up to you to protect it by calling 1-888-334-2258(DFG Caltip).
