The River Conditions for G.R.Colford & Sons on the Main South West Miramichi River in New Brunswick Canada. Still a little slow on the Miramichi today with with the water being very dirty and very cold. Temperatures were at 36 in the morning and 38 in the afternoon and the winds out of the NE 9km/h. With so much snow in the woods and alot of ice still flowing is keeping the water temps very cold and the fish are staying at the bottom.

We fished the mouth of the Cains River on the Miramichi today and managed to hook 4 and land 2. One was 35 inches and gave a great fight. John C also got a 32 inch salmon with guide Ronnie Steevs. They were using a Golden Eagle. I saw a lot of other anglers with fish on, so things are starting to pick up. But with all the wet weather in the forecast for the next week or so it may keep the river dirty, lets hope not.

Flies of choice for today were Renous Special, Golden Eagle and Christmas Tree that looks like the Renous special.

Tight Lines,

Rodney Colford
