The Miramichi was showing great results today on the lower section around Blackville. I fished just above the mouth of cains river this morning and landed 6 salmon and lost two more. The afternoon was a bit slower for us with 2 hooked and lost. Other anglers were having some luck on Golden Eagles and Renous Special's.
There was hardly any ice flowing today, and the grass and sticks were far and few between. So we just might be on track for a good spring season now. The water still is coldn at around 38 F and should get up higher in the next day or two. The barometric pressure was rising today and it seemed to help get the fish taking the fly.
