Back on the South West Miramichi river today after attending the Tweed Angling Fair in Scotland for the past week. I had a great time and met many friends again like Glenda Powell, Gary Scott, Scott Mackenzie and Way Yen. There was also the Spey Casting Championships held.
The Miramichi River is still very high but with very clear water conditions, the salmon are still taking very well. And the water was around 46 F and winds from the East.
The Renous Special and Blue Smelt are the flies of choice. And we are still using a fast sinking line with a 10lb test Maxima leader.
Back tomorrow with another report.
Tight Lines,
Rodney Colford
