For G.R.Colford & Sons Limited on the Main South West Miramichi River on the Eastern shore of NB, Canada. Barometric pressure was dropping today with cloudy & sunny periods on the river, temps in the teens around 17C and winds from the NE at 17km/h. The river was very clear at 48F and a lot calmer than the last couple days.

The last few days fishing has been a little slow. Some boats were still picking up 3 or 4 to a boat trolling with black ghost and the Renous special's. But now with another run of smelts up, it should make the chances even less than the past few days of hooking up with a salmon. I managed to land 2 salmon today on a marabou pattern an Olive color. I hooked them trolling and also hooked many smelts as well.

Quarryville anglers have reported some sign's of bright trout being hooked. I hope they let some pass up my way! There was a report of a 23 inch trout landed there as well. Ian Robertson told me he heard of a three pounder being landed a couple days ago.

Also anglers do not forget the change back to 4 fish a day limit or 1 if you tag it after May 15th and you can use barbed hooks as well from now on out, but I incourage the barbless hooks. You can use doubles as well now.

All for today back again tomorrow with bigger catches!!
