A Very Modest Proposal

Should we try to overcome our primal urges by turning the other cheek? A preposterous idea I think. Fishing is a perfect example. Fish are predators, and so am I. I love the pulsing of a fish fighting for its life. Nature gave me intellect to be a better predator, not to make me a better person.
That makes me think. I have a modest proposal, a proposal that will end the pesky worldwide food shortages. These food riots are becoming annoying, don't you think? Let's do away with all fishing regulations. Forget no kill. We need all kill, bait fishing only. Get rid of bag limits and size restrictions. While we are at it, let's lift all commercial fishing bans. Those poor unfortunates will have all the food they need.
I am really tired of the reports of high food prices. Sure the prices are climbing but this can only increase the bottom line. The working folks who cannot afford food should start their own businesses. That way, they can get in on this phenomenal economy. At the very least, they should buy some wheat futures to cash in.
Either way, the starving masses will be able to feed themselves without a government handout. After all, it is the dole that got them there in the first place. Remember, give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
A capital idea if I do not say so myself.
