Saco River Fishing

I was vacationing with my family last week in North Conway, New Hampshire. I managed to sneak in some fishing. Luckily, the rain stopped, and it was sunny most of the week. The water came down to a fishable level, and the temperature was in the low sixties (more like late spring than August conditions).

The terrestrial and steamer fishing were great. I fished the the fly fishing only section from First Bridge to the golf course. The water was so clear, you could see hundreds of tro [...]

Hot Water in Chatham

I waded Chatham with Carlo & Chippy D. over Father's Day.

The inside water was in the 70's. We caught some fish in the morning but it was tough. Lots of bait, mostly sand eels, but the fish were not feeding in the shallows.

The outside water on the wade or the deep water from a boat is your best bet. Use a fast sink to get down in the colder water. Pink Clouser and sand eel patterns worked well for us.

Pray for cooler water.

<img src="http://www.fly [...]

Kernwood Bass Fishing

I waded the the Danvers River at the Kernwood Bridge Sunday 6/1/08. I was fishing on the p.m. incoming tide. I was only out for two hours, but caught no fish and saw no bait (saw lots of Jelly Fish though). I saw no crashing fish either. I was using big herring patterns and Clousers.

Anybody been fishing the area? Anybody having better luck?

Bass Fishing on the Danvers River

I waded the Danver River, Beverly, Massachusetts last night on the incoming tide between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. I fished the Kernwood side with a fast sinking line and Herring patterns. I picked up two bass in the mid-twenty range.

Anyone else have any luck on the Danvers River System lately? What were you using? How were you rigged? Where were you fishing? Did you see any bait?

Based on last night, and other reports, I think we are in for a good season.
