Launched at the 210 bridge about 10:00 this morning with the tide still falling and very little wind. Went South in my River Hawk to scout the area around Pine Island. First stop was near marker #5. Landed several undersize trout and one small blue using a jig head tipped with a 3" como colored curly tail gulp. My next stop was about half way down to Pine Island where I found a small school of reds working some oyster beds and was able to land one about 24" and one about 25" on a black fly. Finally made it to the back side of Pine Island where I started fishing for flounder but was interrupted by two more schools of reds. This time I went back to the gulp and was able to hook and land 5 more reds and a keeper trout before calling it a day. As a side note I was also checked by a game warden who will be working out of the 210 ramp on a regular bases. |
