The Toccoa Tailwater is pushing out almost daily hatches of BWO's and Midges. A selection of CDC BWO Emerger's # 20-24 and Midges #20-28 will work nicely when fished on 9' 6x or 7x leaders. The majority of the bow's and brown's will be keying in on the emerging stage of these insects and if you don't realize this the afternoon rise will drive you insane. Also a drag free float will up your chances tenfold. The delayed harvest section of the Toccoa is also seeing some surface activity with the same hatches as on the tailwater but just in smaller numbers. A dead drift nymph rig of an egg pattern on a 5x tippet with a soft hackle PT dropper is also effective on the colder days. Using an Olive Wooly Bugger #10 in discolored water after rain showers can also produce well.
