The Toccoa Tailwater is producing some large fish on our float trips.Black Caddis #16 ,Midges #24, BWO's #22,and Black Stoneflies # 16 are making sporadic appearances all along the river. If you're in the right place at the right time you can have stellar fishing. If no hatches are coming off deep nymphing with small #18 or #20 Pheasant Tails,Lightning Bugs, or Rainbow Warriors seem to be the best producers. Throwing Large Olive, Brown,or Black Buggers are taking some fatties when the water has some color! The Delayed Harvest Section has been getting some badly needed rain and the trout have been loving it. During high water wading can be challenging but the fish are there. Deep nymphing seems to be taking the lions share of trout during these high water periods. The trick is learning the stream well enough to know exactly where you can stand and get a perfect drift even though the current is ripping. Tungsten head nymphs such as Rainbow Warriors #18, Prince #16, and Hare's Ears #16 are producing well if  you see no surface activity. If you can see rises it will probably be Gray Midges #24 or tiny BWO's #22.  Adjust Accordingly!
