Details (if any): Winter Regulations-Trout Creek to State Line-Catch & Release Only!

Fishing on the Truckee has been good and at times ridiculous with the warmer temps this week.  Some snow showers are expected on Sunday or Monday of this Holiday Weekend.  With Snow pack levels at 100% parking spots are at a premium.  Snowshoes are almost a requirement to get to the river now.  The closer to the state line and into Nevada you go the better the access gets.  Flows are 265cfs at Boca, 290cfs at Floristan, and 310cfs in Reno.  Success is being had by dead drifting small midge and nymph imitations under an indicator and action on top has been excellent on BWO(baetis) or adult midge imitations.  Streamer fishing has been very sporadic now with water temps in the low 40’s and high 30’s.  You will now need to concentrate your efforts on the slower stretches of water and deep pools now as fish will be looking to conserve their energy.     This section of Wild Trout water is being poached on a regular basis.  It’s up to you to protect it by calling 1-888-334-2258(DFG Caltip).
