The water has settled down nicely and the fish are hungry. The clarity and flows are good in the canyon, with the PMD's, caddis and golden stones heading up the menu. Nymphing during non-hatch times with stonefly nymphs, and maybe an attractor dropper fly- i.e. pheasant tail, prince nymph, lightning bug, copper john (in any color)...etc. will be productive. The flows are not great for wading in the canyon, but it is not impossible. The upper reaches of the river are far more negociable on foot, and as the temps increase, the hatches will make their way up to those more wooded and shaded areas. Be the first on your block.
