Dry fly fishing is still very good throughout the river, and in the canyon in particular. Flows are still up, hanging around 4,000cfs, and while the water clarity is certainly not a '10', it's good enough for the fish to see your fly. Especially since you will be fishing the biggest, ugliest foamiest dry fly in your box. Like a chernyobl ant, hopper, beetle, club sandwich...big foamies spanked against the bank. There are a few caddis in the late evening still, and the PMD's, BWO's and yellow sallies are still around, reportedly, in small numbers. Again, wading the canyon will continue to be tough until the water is dropped. Cooler evenings have helped to keep the water temps in the low 60's, which is nice...keeps the fish happy. Your presentation should be as drag-free as possible, tight to the bank.
